When Government School Students Touched the Future

On 10th December 2024, the school halls of a local Government School in Subhasgram were buzzing with energy. Instead of the usual lessons, students walked through a world of Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Astronomy, and Environmental Science — all thanks to Youth Forum's Science, AI & Environment Exhibition.

Over 500 students from three government schools participated across two days — many experiencing a robot, telescope, or AI demonstration for the very first time.

Why We Did This

Students in government schools in semi-urban areas like Subhasgram rarely get exposure to STEM beyond their textbooks. Private schools organize science fairs and tech workshops — government school students often miss out entirely. Youth Forum believes every child deserves the same quality of inspiration.

What Was on Display

Artificial Intelligence & Robotics

Volunteers demonstrated AI concepts using hands-on models. Students programmed simple robots — many for the first time — and were amazed they could make machines move.

Interactive Astronomy Show

In collaboration with the Kolkata Astronomy Centre, students explored the solar system and spotted Jupiter through a telescope during the evening session.

Environmental Science

Engaging exhibits on climate change, plastic pollution, and biodiversity — with interactive quizzes and a recycled-art section.

Science Experiments

Classic demonstrations of chemical reactions, optical illusions, and physics experiments that had students gasping in delight.

Saraswati Puja 2026 Exhibition

Youth Forum will host a larger Science & AI Exhibition as part of Saraswati Puja 2026 (Jan 22-26), including a Robotics Workshop and Astronomy Show. Learn more →
