About the Event
On 1st May 2025, Youth Forum organised one of its most impactful community health drives — a single day that brought together two vital programmes: a Blood Donation Camp and a Free Eye Checkup Programme.
Held at Subhasgram, South 24 Parganas, the event was completely free and open to all residents. Over 225+ community members were directly served — making it a model for Youth Forum's combined-service approach to community health.
This event proved that when healthcare partners, community volunteers, and residents come together, a single day can change dozens of lives — and in some cases, save them.

Blood Donation Camp
In association with Ruby General Hospital, the Blood Donation Camp collected donations from 80 generous individuals, directly strengthening the region's critical blood supply at a time of acute shortage.
Free Eye Care Programme
In partnership with Susrut Eye Foundation & Research Centre, the team provided free examinations to 145 residents, distributed 20 pairs of spectacles at zero cost, and facilitated 5 free cataract surgeries — restoring sight to those who had been living without it.

Many recipients of free spectacles were elderly residents and children from low-income families for whom prescription eyewear would have otherwise been financially out of reach. The 5 cataract surgeries were arranged at no cost and conducted at Susrut Eye Foundation — returning full vision to patients who had been living with impairment.
