Every evening, as the last trains rumble through Subhasgram station, a group of children settles down under the platform lights — not to sleep, but to study. This is Prithibir Pathsala — The World's School — Youth Forum's grassroots educational initiative transforming lives one lesson at a time.
Thousands of children in and around Subhasgram come from families living below the poverty line. Their parents — daily laborers, rickshaw pullers, domestic workers — cannot afford private tuition. After school, these children have nowhere to study, no help with homework, and no guidance for examinations. Many drop out.
Youth Forum's volunteers saw this daily reality and decided to act.
Prithibir Pathsala runs evening coaching sessions at the Subhasgram railway station area, completely free of charge, for children aged 6–16.
Riya, a Class 7 student, went from failing Mathematics to scoring 78% in her class tests after joining Prithibir Pathsala.
Arjun, aged 10, told our volunteers: "I want to become a doctor. This school is helping me get there."
We currently support over 40 children but aim to reach 200 by end of 2025.
As a volunteer or member, you'll work directly with communities in Subhasgram — organizing health camps, teaching underprivileged children, distributing supplies, and being part of something truly meaningful. Every hand matters.
