The Full Story

The Pragatipally area of Subhasgram is susceptible to vector-borne diseases due to stagnant water bodies and monsoon run-off. To mitigate this risk, Youth Forum implemented a comprehensive vector treatment programme from November 2025 to March 2026.

Anti-Adult Measures

Thermal fogging and insecticide spraying were conducted across residential areas to target adult mosquitoes during peak activity periods.

Anti-Larval Measures

Larvicides were systematically applied to potential breeding sites — stagnant water bodies, open drains, construction sites, and areas with high larval density.

The sustained, multi-month approach ensured that both adult mosquito populations and breeding cycles were disrupted, significantly reducing the incidence of dengue and malaria in the community during the winter–spring transition period.
